DOROTHY MAE (MICHALAK) GAMIO

On Oct. 27, 2018, Dorothy Mae (Michalak) Gamio passed away. She was born on Dec. 5, 1931 in Casper, Wyoming to Nick and Marie (Coles) Michalak. She grew up in Elma, Washington, and is the fourth of five siblings; Frank, Albert “Joe”, Mary, Daniel “Danny”.

Dorothy married Pierre Gamio in Reno, Nevada on July 1, 1963. They moved to the Bridgeport Bar area in 1964. Dorothy primarily worked in the agricultural industry, picking and hand-packing fruit. When the family horse Duchess had been terribly cut, she nursed her back to health. She was an avid reader and amassed her own personal library. She was fascinated about history and her family genealogy. She often could be seen tending to her property riding her lawn mower.

She had five children; Gary Hobson, Marvin Hobson, Deborah Hobson, Joan (Hobson) Blurton, and Angelia Gamio-Maciel. She was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In her latest years, Dorothy moved to Mount Vernon, Washington and resided with Angelia and her family until her passing.
