Juan C. Martinez, Sr.

Juan C. Martinez, Sr. passed away peacefully at home at the age of 81, on September 10, 2022. He was surrounded by his loved ones.

Juan was born on June 6, 1941, in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to parents, Guadalupe Martinez Gonzales and Exiqia Martinez Chavez. He was number six of fifteen siblings and half siblings.

On February 26, 1956, the Martinez family made their way to Texas for work and a new start. Then, in January of 1960, they made their way to California, where he met Florinda Montemayor Caballero.

In May of 1965, Juan and Florinda were married and they raised four children: Jorge, Juan, Maria, and Dario.

In 1970, Juan and Florinda moved their family to Bridgeport, Washington, where they made their permanent home. They raised their four children and were later blessed with 12 grandchildren.

Juan was a beloved member of the community. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Visitation was held at Barnes Chapel in Brewster, Washington, on Friday, September 16, 2022. Services were held Saturday, September 17, 2022, followed by a graveside service at the Bridgeport City Cemetery.
