Sherman Mumpower, 85, of East Wenatchee, Washington, passed away at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Washington, on September 21, 2022. He was born in Appalachia, Virginia, on May 14, 1937 to Charles Baker and Mamie Agnes Hillman Mumpower.

After graduation from high school, Sherman served for six years in the U.S. Army. Shortly before leaving, he married Peggy Ellen Metteer on May 28, 1966 in Umatilla, Oregon. They are the proud parents of two sons, Daniel and Jeffrey.

Sherman worked for the Army Corps of Engineers as an Inspector and Powerhouse Electrician. He also was a Ham Radio enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Reka Lee, Wayman Mumpower, and Thevenoe Mumpower. Sherman is survived by his wife, Peggy; sons: Daniel Wayne of Yakima, Washington, and Jeffrey Dean Mumpower of Wenatchee, Washington; and brothers: Harry Mumpower of Atlanta, Georgia, Charles Mumpower of Fort Myers, Florida, and Edd Mumpower, of Tennessee.

There will be a reception held on September 29, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Latter-Day Saints, 417 4th St. S., Brewster, Washington, followed by a service at 11 a.m. Following will be a burial service at the Bridgeport Cemetery.
