Mansfield Lions Club hosts 41st annual October auction

Posted

MANSFIELD – The event of the fall season in the Town at the End of the Rails took all day Saturday, Oct. 6, when the 41st annual Mansfield Lions Club Auction got underway at 10 a.m. for its multi-hour sale.

On the block this year were more vehicles than last year’s selection including a beautifully restored classic 1972 Chevrolet El Camino offered by Mansfield resident Don Murison to any buyer willing to meet the vehicle’s minimum opening bid.

New to the event this year was auctioneer Tucker Cool from Davenport and his crew from Best Bid Auctions. It was also the first year that the auction items were available online for live real-time bidding.

Mansfield Mayor Thomas Snell observed that while this year’s auction did not feature as many miscellaneous items “there were a lot more vehicles and we know those that didn’t have minimums on them sold.”
