Newhouse introduces resolution to Honor Gold Star Families

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On April 5,  Gold Star Spouses Day, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) introduced the Gold Star Families Remembrance Week Resolution, which establishes a national period to honor the sacrifices made by the families of the U.S. military servicemembers who lost their lives in service to the nation. The resolution designates Sept. 18-24, 2022, as Gold Star Families Remembrance Week.

“Our service members and their families have sacrificed so much for our country. We not only owe our fallen military heroes an enormous debt, but we owe their families whom they left behind. On this Gold Star Spouses Day, we honor the surviving families by recognizing their great sacrifices,” said Rep. Newhouse. “We cannot begin to fathom the loss and pain these families have experienced. With this resolution, we honor and recognize these families and commit to celebrating the lives of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
