Nursing the World Back to Health, theme for 2022 Nurses Week

Posted

The Theme for 2022 - Nursing the World Back to Health. Nurses are central to addressing a wide range of health challenges. This recognition builds on the increased visibility of nurses' contributions from 2022 and ANA's expansion of National Nurses Week to Nurses Month in May. Every year, National Nurses Week kicks off on May 6. The celebration continues all week, culminating on May 12 – Florence Nightingale’s birthday, and International Nurses Day. The celebration has evolved over the years into a weeklong event; but International Nurses Day was first celebrated in 1965 by the International Council of Nurses (ICN) – a federation that, today, represents more than 27 million nurses worldwide. Considering the critical role that nurses have played in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the extra celebration and recognition is deserved this year more than ever.

Remember to  say THANK YOU to our Nurses, send your favorite nurses(s) a card, flowers, a snack, or something you know they would like, but most of say THANK YOU.
