A message from Okanogan County Public Works

OKANOGAN COUNTY - Bands of moderate to heavy snow are expected Friday night (Feb. 8) into Saturday (Feb.9). Snow will be followed by increasing north or northeast winds Saturday into Saturday night. Blowing and drifting snow will have the potential to reduce visibilities and cause some roads to become impassable.

Okanogan County Public Work’s goal is to provide safe and efficient winter travel. Plowing #arterial roads will be the main focus until conditions improve. Area supervisors will evaluate road conditions.

An emergency situation is defined as only situations where fire, police, or emergency medical services are called out.

County officials urge people to carry a shovel, blanket, food and water, flashlight, cellphone and extra clothing for changing conditions, in case you get stranded.

If you need any further information please call Okanogan County Public Works at (509) 422-7300.
