Douglas County Public Utility District honors McGregor

EAST WENATCHEE - Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E. Skagen, Molly Simpson and Aaron J. Viebrock executed the following actions during the June 26, 2017 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

• Awarded Network Administrator Julene McGregor with her twenty-five year service award. Commissioner Skagen thanked Julene on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for her years of service. Julene thanked the Commission and said “Douglas PUD is an awesome family. I love it here. We are growing in great ways. It is a real blessing in my life.”

• Approved a call for bids under bid document 17-09-D, provide traffic control services. Flagging services are necessary on a regular basis for Distribution System construction work along roadways. (17-086)

• Authorized a call for bids under bid document 17-13-D, supply and deliver compact 1100 kcml EPR primary underground cable. (17-087)

• Approved change orders No. 59-66 to contract 06-41-W, generator rebuild for unit refurbishment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. These changes include out-of-scope repairs and management of Unit 4 generator rotor rim and turbine runner hub sealing. This will increase the contract $1,174,486, bringing the total not to exceed amount to $167,042,109. (17-088)

• Authorized a call for bids under bid document 17-10-W, supply and deliver 350 MCM power cable for the air compressor system upgrade project at the Wells Hydroelectric Project.  (17-089)

• Approved an agreement with RiverCom for shared use of the District’s Upper Badger Mountain Radio site. This agreement allows co-location of equipment at communication sites. (17-090)

• Authorized a one-year agreement with Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife for the operation of hatchery programs as required by the Wells HCP, the Off-License Settlement Agreement, the Aquatic Settlement Agreement and the Interlocal Cooperative Agreements with Grant and Chelan PUDs. • Authorized the 2017-2018 hatchery operation and maintenance budgets for the Wells and Methow hatcheries of $1,366,786 and $715,535 respectively.  (17-092)

• Approved the 2017-2018 Wells Hatchery white sturgeon rearing budget of $26,431. The Wells Aquatic Settlement Agreement and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission License for the Wells Project require Douglas PUD to rear and release juvenile white sturgeon. (17-093)

• Authorized execution of a quit claim deed to the City of Pateros sections of Hwy 97 through Pateros located above Wells Project Boundary and of no value to the District. (17-094)

• Approved approval of land use permit 342-02, Thomas Kottke. The permit is for continued use of Project lands previously permitted for a single use dock, lawn and residential landscaping. (17-095)

• Authorized settlement of legal proceeding against All That Jazz, LLC. A wildfire in northern Douglas County damaged or destroyed several miles of District power lines, poles and associated electrical equipment. (17-096)

• Commended General Manager for loyal and dedicated service to the Public Utility District No. 1 of Douglas County, Washington.  The loyalty and dedication of Mr. Dobbins has caused the District to enjoy a high degree of success and the respect of its customer owners and the utility industry. (17-097)

• The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. July 10, 2017 at the District’s East Wenatchee office.
