Next meeting Aug. 28 at district’s Bridgeport office

EAST WENATCHEE - Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E. Skagen, Molly Simpson and Aaron J. Viebrock executed the following actions during the August 14, 2017 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:
• Awarded Customer Accounting Supervisor Kim Girdler with her 25 year service award. Commissioner Skagen thanked Kim on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for her years of service. Kim thanked the Commission and said “I’m truly blessed. I have enjoyed every step along the way. I have a great staff to work with.”
• Approved an interlocal agreement with the City of East Wenatchee for the purchase and replacement of street light fixtures for the Relight Washington grant program. (17-112)
• Authorized amendment No. 4 to professional service agreement with Sigma Six Solutions. This amendment increases the not-to-exceed amount $4,400 bringing the total contract amount to $129,143  to allow additional work to be completed and extends the completion date to August 31, 2017. (17-113)
• Approved a professional service agreement with Scott Jonas for assistance in testing the line to line relays for Veedol Substation at a cost not-to exceed $2,500 and an expiration date of December 1, 2017. (17-114)
• Authorized award of contract 17-09-D, provide traffic control services to Cascade Cable Constructors, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. (17-115)
• Approved award of contract 17-13-D, supply and deliver compact 1100 KCMIL EPR primary underground cable to WESCO Distribution, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. (17-116)
• Authorized purchase of 350 MCM Power Cable from Consolidated Electrical Distributors for the Wells Hydroelectric Project at a cost not-to-exceed $68,220. (17-117)
• Amended company name in Resolution 17-080 to ASL Environmental Sciences, Inc. (17-118)
• Approved change orders No. 67-74 to contract 06-41-W, generator rebuild for unit refurbishment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. These changes include Unit 4 turbine component off-site repair, refurbishment of headcover air admission valves, stator soleplate and rocker arms. This will increase the contract $528,278, bringing the total not to exceed amount to $167,570,387. (17-119)
• Authorized addendum No. 1 to bid document 17-01-W, upgrade the 300T gantry crane at the Wells Hydroelectric Project to provide clarifications to the contract documents. (17-120)
• Affirmed change order No. 11 to contract 14-19-W, Wells Hatchery Modernization. Necessary to address several constructability issues. This change order increases the not to exceed limit $173,139 bringing the total not to exceed limit to $36,753,358. (17-121)
• Affirmed addenda Nos. 1 and 2 to bid document 17-12-W, Pateros dock replacements and boat launch improvements to provide clarifications to the contract documents. (17-122)
• Approved approval of land use permit 304-05, City of Pateros. The permit is for installation and maintenance of potable water reservoir overflow pipe and outfall on District property. (17-123)
• Approved approval of land use permit 337-03, Earl and Bonnie Groendyke. The permit is for continued use of Project lands previously permitted for a single use dock, lawn and residential landscaping. (17-124)
• Approved approval of land use permit 476-02, Larry Smith. The permit is for continued use of Project lands previously permitted for a single use dock, lawn, sand beach and residential landscaping. (17-125)
• Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 3,761 end users.
• The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., August 28, 2017 at the District’s Bridgeport office.
