Douglas County PUD April 13 meeting

EAST WENATCHEE - Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E. Skagen, Molly Simpson and Aaron J. Viebrock executed the following actions during the April 13, Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

 

Authorized an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement for road improvements with Douglas County. Communication infrastructure will be moved to accommodate roadway improvements on 4th St. S.E. in East Wenatchee.

 

Approved legal services agreement with the law firm of Winston and Strawn LLP effective until December 31, 2020.

 

Authorized Note No. 5 loan from the Electric Distribution System Capital Project Revolving Loan Fund to the Wells Hydroelectric Project.

 

Affirmed change order No. 1 to contract 19-33-D, construct Rapids Switchyard Phase 3. Changes include additional foundations not specified in plan documents. This will increase the contract $29,000.

 

Approved award of contract 19-23-D to Hydrogenics Corporation to supply and deliver 5 MW hydrogen electrolyzer equipment at a cost not to exceed $9,483,250.

 

Authorized request for qualifications 20-08-D, professional engineering services for safety and design of the Douglas PUD Hydrogen Electrolyzer Project. These services are needed to ensure project conformance with the latest safety codes and standards in this relatively new industry.

 

Approved amendment No. 1 to professional service agreement 18-06-W, with Greisen Aerospace for engineering services for modifications to the Trashrack lifting beams. This amendment will extend the agreement to December 31, 2020.

 

Authorized a request for qualifications 20-09-W, engineering structural analysis of the Wells Hydroelectric Project’s Hydrocombine structure. Necessary to identify maximum live load limitations for equipment used at the site in four zones.

 

Approved amending Resolution No. 20-058 professional service agreement with Geosystems, L.P. Necessary to revise the scope of work.

 

Authorized naming Human Resource Administrator, Shauna Cenotto as designee to administer the provisions of the PUD No. 1 of Douglas County deferred compensation plans.

 

Authorized approval of land use permit 375-02, Jasvir and Gurmail Gill. The permit is for continued use of Project lands previously permitted for existing landscaping, two boat docks and associated bulkheads.

 

Authorized approval of land use permit 432-02, Jass Gill LLC. The permit is for continued use of Project lands previously permitted for existing landscaping, parking lot, docks and associated bulkheads.

 

Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 5,536 end users.

 

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. April 27, at the District’s East Wenatchee office.
