Okanogan-Brewster transmission line completed

Posted

OKANOGAN – Work on the Okanogan-Brewster transmission line damaged in the September 2020 wildfire and rebuilt using steel poles was scheduled to be fully completed on June 28. That update was among items discussed at the June 27 meeting of Okanogan County PUD commissioners.
The commissioners praised staff after receiving an unmodified opinion from Moss Adams independent auditors. Olga Darlington at Moss Adams said the audit, which focused on financial reporting and reviewed several departments, was “very clean.” Full audit reports are made available on the PUD website.
    In other business, the board:
    •    Tabled discussions regarding Resolutions 1775 and 1776, concerning support of a feasibility study for Enloe Dam and approval of a strategic plan. Commissioner Jerry Asmussen was absent, and the remaining commissioners wanted more time to review the documents.
    •    Heard that May wholesale power sale revenue exceeded budget. April was also a higher retail power sales month. In total, the budget is $707,937 more revenue than anticipated so far this year.
    •    Heard a presentation from Washington PUD Association representatives about the upcoming legislative year.
    •    Abolished the petty cash drawer for the Twisp office since the office is now closed.
    •    Heard that a summer intern has begun at the PUD through a program with Energy Northwest.
