Half of Bridgeport High School graduates 12-year seniors

BRIDGEPORT – Three honor graduates were among the 40 Class of 2017 seniors who graduated Bridgeport High School in a ceremony held in the school gym last Friday, June 2. Graduating with scholastic honors were Jacqueline Herrera-Villanueva, Elizabeth Landin-Michel and Elizabeth Carreon-Quiroz.

More than half of the graduates - 24 in all -  attended Bridgeport schools for all 12 years of their public education.

Dr. Gene Sharratt, a member of Governor Jay Inslee’s cabinet as Executive Director of the Washington Student Achievement Council, delivered the commencement address.

Jesse Gomez delivered the valedictory address followed by class salutatorian, Beatriz Monserrat Medel-Martinez.

Bridgeport School Principal, Tamra Jackson presented the graduating class and superintendent Scott Sattler along with School Board chair, Janie Jenkins performed the presentation of diplomas.
