Schools schedule local Veterans Day ceremonies Wednesday, Nov. 6 and Friday, Nov. 8

QUAD CITIES – Military veterans and the public are welcome to attend Veterans Day ceremonies being held this week at Pateros, Brewster, Bridgeport and Mansfield high schools.

BREWSTER

1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6. In new Middle School gym

Posting of colors: American Legion Columbia Post 97

Guest Speaker Major Leslie Ratcliff, U.S. Army (Lacey WA): The ROTC program and its educational benefits for high school graduates.

MS/HS Choirs: National Anthem and a special feature.

MS/HS band: Prelude and a special feature.

Band and choirs: Special feature written by Bridgeport music teacher Derek Pulsifer who used text from the poem Flanders Fields in his composition.

Bands, choirs, fourth and fifth grades: A medley of all five service songs.

BRIDGEPORT

8:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 8 (HS gym)

Posting the colors: American Legion Columbia Post 97

National Anthem: Bridgeport MS/HS band.

Song: Bridgeport Elementary students.

Power Point presentation: ASB council.

PATEROS

10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8

Post of colors: American Legion Columbia Post 97.

Guest speaker: Chuck Borg, Colonel U.S. Air Force (ret.) and former Pateros alum.

Music: Pateros High School band

Flag folding ceremony: sixth grade.

Candle lighting: ASB council.

Veterans quilt presentation: Columbia River Quilt Guild.
