Brewster EP&O levy passing as certification nears

BREWSTER – Preliminary votes released by the Okanogan County Auditor show the Brewster School District’s four-year Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) passing by more than the 50 percent margin required by state law.

The vote count from Wednesday, May 1, showed voters approving the measure by 55.30 percent to 44.70 percent opposed. Of the 604 ballots counted, 334 support the levy, and 270 do not.

The second count on Friday, April 26, showed a growing margin of support for the levy. The Yes vote increased to 55.04 percent from 322 voters, while the 263 No votes accounted for 44.96 percent. The final official count and certification is scheduled for 6 p.m., Friday, May 3.
