Easter egg scrambles spread from Mansfield to Memorial Park

Posted

BREWSTER – From Blue Stem Park in Mansfield to Memorial Riverfront Park in Pateros the Easter Bunny was hoppin’ as youngsters scrambled for treats and prize eggs on Saturday, April 19, and Easter Sunday, April 20.

Thanks to Mansfield resident LuAnn Lester who stuffed 1,300 plastic eggs, and sponsors Mansfield Lions Club, McDonald’s, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Mansfield Hardware, Golden Grain Café, and Jameson Lake Resort, the grass at Blue Stem park was saturated with the colored orbs by 11 a.m., Saturday morning when the herd of egg-pickers stormed the field.

Brewster

Brewster Chamber of Commerce Vice President Elizabeth Shepard called for volunteers to help stuff the 4,000 eggs that covered Inning Park across the street from the Brewster Boys and Girls Club by 10 a.m., Saturday morning.

Before you can say Betty’s big bunny bobbled by the blueberry bush, they were in baskets of beaming kids, some of whom paused long enough to pose for pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Pateros

At the same time in Pateros the Pateros/Methow Volunteer Fire Organizations (PMVFO) hosted their third annual Easter Fair for youngsters Memorial Riverfront Park, and a separate scavenger hunt for teens 13-15.

Bridgeport

The prize bikes raffled off at Bridgeport’s Bouska Park were only outnumbered by the youngsters who showed up for the 1 p.m. Easter Sunday festivities.

“We raffled 12 bikes total and eight of them were donated by community members,” said Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce President Jose Sanchez.

Omak Dodge donated 12 prizes for lucky kids who found 12 golden eggs.
