Fishermen turn out for summer chinook at Brewster

Fishermen like this group with Adventure Guide Service from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, were on the Columbia River Sunday, July 4, for the summer chinook opener from the Highway 173 bridge in Brewster to Foster Creek just below Chief Joseph Dam in Bridgeport. Vehicles towing boat trailers filled much of the available parking around the Brewster boat launch. One angler reported good success on sockeye salmon but said the chinook bite was slow.
