George (Joe) Edward Riggan

George (Joe) Edward Riggan passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024, in Battle Ground, Washington.  Joe, as he was affectionately known, was born on July 3, 1934 in Ivy, Arkansas to Roy and Laura Mae Riggan.  He moved with his family to Brewster, Washington in 1945 and graduated from Brewster High School in 1952.  Out of high school, Joe joined the Air Force and served in the Korean Conflict.  Joe worked for over 30 years in the banking industry, retiring in 1985. Joe’s love of sports led him to coach and umpire baseball and referee high school basketball games.  Joe was also an avid and accomplished golfer, scoring several hole-in-ones during his golfing career.

Joe is survived by sisters, Reba Gebbers of Brewster, Washington and Sue Lubash of Brier, Washington, brothers Bob Riggan of Wenatchee, Washington and Jerry Riggan of Brewster, Washington, children Cinda Wright (Michael) of Battle Ground, Washington, Dale Riggan (Joanne) of Endicott, Washington and Karla Shute of Baker City, Oregon, 17 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by daughter Becky Locke (David) of Battle Ground, Washington.

A graveside burial service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vancouver, Washington .
