Icicle Fund opens grant program for 2022

Unrestricted grants offered to NCW non-profits

LEAVENWORTH – The Icicle Fund is now accepting applications from eligible non-profit organizations through its Community Grant Program. The deadline is December 10.
The Icicle Fund is again adapting its grant programs to further deepen its partnership with nonprofits that serve North Central Washington communities through engagement with the arts, environment, and history. Last year highlighted the power of flexible funding in allowing nonprofits to deliver mission in innovative and impactful ways. Depending on organizational mission and service areas, unrestricted or project support is available this year.
This year, the Fund will award unrestricted funding to some organizations and full cost project funding to others. In effect, organizations are able to do their most important work in the community, implementing not only the high-profile but also the hard-to-fund projects while building and maintaining high performing organizations.
We believe that strong, thriving communities are created and maintained through engagement of all its members. The Fund acknowledges the need for intentional strategies to remove barriers for community members who have been historically under-served through our programs.
To remove barriers in the application process, it has been re-designed to minimize the burden on applicants and include a no-charge, one-on-one coaching on financial reporting as well as availability of Spanish translation services as needed.
Icicle Fund is rooted in the belief that strong connections of people to place is built and nurtured through artistic expression, imagination, understanding of past, experience in nature, and care for wildlife and natural landscapes. As a catalyst for partnerships and collaboration, Icicle Fund helps to nurture these connections and as a result, strengthens and sustains the beloved region of North Central Washington. Since its 1998 founding by Harriet Bullitt, Icicle Fund has invested more than $45 million in over 100 non-profits that support the environment, the arts, and history in North Central Washington. In 2019, Bullitt gifted her ownership of Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort to Icicle Fund, allowing her guests to also support this mission through the resort’s proceeds.
Community Grants are single- or two-year grants of no less than $3,000 to support non-profit organizations that have an impact in the Arts, Environment, or History in Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, and/or Grant Counties.
