James Ben Hensley

James Ben Hensley passed away May 26, 2023 after a long illness in Long Term Care at Grand Coulee, Washington.  “Ben” was born in Wenatchee, Washington on July 1, 1939 to Logan and Alberta (Pease) Hensley.  

Ben grew up in Mansfield, with his family on a small farm.  He completed school at Mansfield and married Rene Shaw in June of 1960. They later divorced.

They had two children, Kurt (Julie) Hensley, Brewster and Teresa who passed away several years ago.

Soon after graduation Ben and Rene moved to the Seattle area where he worked at a Freightliner plant and the Washington State Highway Department and several private businesses. In 1970 Ben retired and moved to Wilson Creek, Washington where he did a little gardening.  In 2017 Ben moved into the Long Term Care Facilities in Grand Coulee where he remained until his death.

He was preceded by death by both his parents, his brother Lowell and his daughter.
