Mansfield chapter is busy on FFA Week

Posted

MANSFIELD – “We are currently in the middle of a huge project,” said Mansfield FFA advisor Jamey Jo Steele. “We decided to sell our wooden American flags that we build in shop class.”

As it turns out, many FFA fans and followers wanted one.

“We had to finally put a freeze on new orders when we reached 55,” said Steele. “Each flag takes approximately 6-8 hours start to finish. So, we are very busy!”

Fair projects are also well underway.

“This year we have five members raising market steers, five raising hogs, and three raising market meat goats,” said Steele. “We are currently expanding our school farm to include a second steer pen/shelter to accommodate the increase in steer projects.”

An annual fundraiser is also in the works.

“We are planning and organizing our second annual dinner and auction to be held on March 24,” said Steele. “This dinner is a way to serve our loyal supporters as well as earn some money from auction items.”
