PATEROS – The public works department has issued a heads-up to city residents and visitors concerning the third phase of a street chipseal project that will require the cooperation of vehicle owners to help the work proceed without interruption.
Beginning Wednesday, July 9 through Tuesday. July 15, vehicles must be off and away from downtown streets so that contractor can apply paint striping to the seven streets that have been resurfaced. Expect temporary street closures as well.
Early last June the city council awarded a $165, 999 contract to Tommer Construction to pave Augusta, Edna, Pearl, Park, Lakeshore, Dawson, and Commercial streets and apply a seal coat to Lakeshore, Dawson, and Commercial. Now that all surfaces have a new, fresh look all that remains is new striping to be ready for the 74th annual Apple Pie Jamboree on the weekend of July 18-20.
