Pateros Chamber Golf Tournament draws largest field yet

Posted

PATEROS – The word is getting out about the fun and friendly competition awaiting players at the annual Pateros Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament because this year’s team turnout was the largest the event has attracted so far.

Tournament organizer, Jenna Miller, said 18 teams, “our largest field yet” signed up for an afternoon of golf at the scenic 18-hole course at Alta Lake Golf Resort owned by Parker and Leigh Anne Barth. Teams from as far away as Wenatchee – JDSA Law and Chelan Fresh Marketing – made up part of the field.

While the competition was friendly it was also skillful as the winning score of 11-under par at 61 illustrated. A two-way tie for second at 10-under required a playoff that was won by the team of Don Barth, Mike Zoretic, Gordon and Tori Wolf.

Other competition included longest drive, won by Jordan Miller with a booming 340-yard effort.

Sheila Mccallister won the ladies’ accuracy drive when her ball rested directly on top of the line, Miller said.

Mark Beach won KP on the men’s hole.

“We had hole-in-one opportunities on four holes,” said Miller. “$10,000 cash, a side-by-side from Washington Tractor, Calloway golf clubs, domestic air travel for two and a TV.”

No player, however, connected for an ace.

To accommodate the 18 teams, the tournament also featured awesome food, a silent auction, swag bags and 19 hole sponsors. One of those was the Real Housewives of Alta Lake who were “handing out water and cheering on golfers as they teed off on their sponsorship hole No. 11,” Miller said.
