Pateros volunteer firefighters erect memorial flags

Courtesy Pateros Fire Department Douglas-Okanogan Fire District 15 volunteers with the Pateros Fire Department once again lined the Pateros Cemetery Road with 47 large American flags last Wednesday, May 26, in preparation for Memorial Day ceremonies that will be observed on site by the Honor Guard from American Legion Columbia Post 97 from Brewster. Pateros Fire Chief Kerry Heen said each flag has the name of a military veteran inscribed by the family on the flag border.
