Project Convergence dance performance scheduled at Winthrop Red Barn

Posted

WINTHROP — Methow Arts will present a performance by Project Convergence, a bi-coastal dance company, at the Winthrop Red Barn on March 21 at 7 p.m.

The program will feature a performance combining the traditions of Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form, and American tap dance. According to Methow Arts, the production presents the two styles side by side rather than blending them into a single form.

Project Convergence is led by artists whose work has been presented at Lincoln Center and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, according to event information provided by Methow Arts.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for youth ages 5 to 17. Tickets are available through Methow Arts.

Methow Arts, based in Twisp, was founded in 1983 and operates as a nonprofit organization focused on arts education, public art and community performances across Okanogan County. The organization also collaborates with the Methow Valley School District to provide arts education opportunities for students, according to the organization.
