WENATCHEE — The North Central Educational Service District has appointed veteran educator Robert Shacklett to its Board of Directors, representing District 1 in Okanogan County.
Shacklett, a longtime resident and former educator in the Okanogan School District, will represent the school districts of Brewster, Grand Coulee Dam, Nespelem, Okanogan, Omak, Oroville, and Tonasket. He replaces Dr. Richard Johnson, who resigned after four years of service.
Shacklett brings more than four decades of experience in public education to the NCESD board. His career includes 32 years in the classroom and 10 years as a high school principal, with 25 of those years spent serving the Okanogan School District. He also held leadership roles on state-level committees with the Association of Washington School Principals, focusing on professional development and student leadership.
“Mr. Shacklett’s 42 years of dedication to education, including decades as a high school principal and teacher, make him an incredible asset to our NCESD Board,” said NCESD Superintendent Michelle Price. “His deep understanding of the Okanogan region and his leadership experience with state committees align perfectly with our mission to serve and support school districts. We are excited to welcome his insight and passion for student success.”
The North Central ESD serves more than 42,000 students across a 12,600-square-mile region in Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, and Grant counties. The agency’s Board of Directors includes seven members, each representing a different geographic region within the service area.
