On behalf of our entire team at Three Rivers Hospital, I’d like to thank the voters for their support of our one-year renewal levy in the Nov. 5 election.
While these funds can be used on other hospital operations, we’ve mainly used them to offset the cost of staffing our 24-hour emergency room with board-certified physicians.
Property tax revenues make up about 6 percent of our total budget, and that funding has been invaluable for us as a nonprofit rural Critical Access Hospital. To ensure we’re making the best use of your investment, our team works tirelessly to achieve our goal of breaking even operationally – that is, covering our costs through patient care revenues. That is a challenge for most healthcare facilities, due to factors such as reimbursements lower than the cost of providing care. To mitigate that, we look to our expenses for areas we can reduce, and we focus on growing services.
We’re looking forward to continued growth as we head into our 76th year of service, and that will be made possible because of the overall support of our communities: Brewster, Bridgeport, Pateros, Mansfield, Methow, Carlton, Twisp, Winthrop, and Mazama. Thank you!
