BREWSTER – The Board of Commissioners of Three Rivers Hospital got the good news from CEO Scott Graham at its February meeting that the non-profit Three Rivers Hospital Foundation should soon be operational once again as an organization to promote and support the medical facility.
Foundation board president, Dan Webster has been working through the details to restore the Foundation’s 501(c)3 status and is taking steps to reconvene the board. Once that status is officially established the Foundation - which operates independently from the hospital – will be able to once again accept donations to assist the hospital with patient care purchases.
“The new Three Rivers Orthopedics practice is in full swing,” said Administrative Assistant, Jennifer Marshall, “Our providers plan to see patients in Tonasket, Omak, and hopefully in the Methow Valley as well, to help reduce the need for patients to travel long distances.”
Orthopedics is currently sharing clinic space with Family Medicine, Marshall said. The number of surgeries is on the rise thanks to the arrival of Dr. Jonathan Miller, the part-time return of Dr. James Lamberton and Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) Rob Lamberton.
“By the end of February, we had 23 surgeries that month, which includes general surgeries performed by Dr. Gordon Tagge and gynecological procedures done by Dr. Ty Witt,” Marshall said. “This bump in surgeries is a great improvement from the previous six months when we were temporarily without orthopedic services.”
At their January board meeting the commissioners elected to keep the same officers in 2017:
Chair – Vicki Orford
Vice Chair – Mike Pruett
Secretary – Tracy Shrable
Committee appoints will also remain unchanged in 2017”
Orford: Finance Committee, Medical Staff
Pruett: Building & Planning Committee
Shrable: Finance Committee
Cherri Thomas – Quality Council.
The next Three Rivers Board of Commissioners meeting will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 27, in the McKinley Building Conference Room at 507 Hospital Way.
