Two vehicle wreck claims life of Brewster man

BRIDGEPORT – The Washington State Patrol reports that a two-vehicle accident on Bridgeport Bar claimed the life of a Brewster man early on the morning of July 4.

Alejandro Martinez Rincon, 29, died when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving southbound on Highway 173 and was struck by second vehicle traveling northbound. The WSP report said Martinez Rincon, driving a 1995 Honda Civic, failed to negotiate a curve, overcorrected, struck the embankment, and reentered the road coming to rest in and blocking the northbound lane.

A northbound 2013 Toyota Corolla driven by Rodimiro Espino Lorenzano, 20, of Brewster, struck the Honda and came to rest on the road shoulder.

WSP said Martinez Rincon, who was not wearing his seatbelt, died at the scene.

Espino Lorenzano, injured in the crash and treated at the scene, was wearing a seatbelt.

The accident remains under investigation.
