OLYMPIA — Average gasoline prices in Washington rose 1.8 cents per gallon over the past week to $5.33 as of Monday, according to a new survey from GasBuddy.

The statewide average is 54.1 cents higher than a month ago and $1.03 higher than the same date a year ago, according to the survey of 2,666 stations across the state.

GasBuddy reported the cheapest gasoline in Washington on Sunday was $4.09 per gallon, while the highest price was $6.39, a spread of $2.30 per gallon.

Among selected metro areas, prices in Tacoma averaged $5.38 per gallon, up 5 cents from last week. Seattle averaged $5.56, up 3.3 cents, while Yakima averaged $4.98, down 9.5 cents from a week earlier.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline was unchanged over the past week at $4.07 per gallon. That figure is up 39.1 cents from a month ago and 93.4 cents higher than one year ago, GasBuddy said.

The national average price of diesel increased 4.1 cents over the last week to $5.617 per gallon.

“Average gasoline prices surged for many Americans through the first half of last week before easing in some areas after oil prices slipped following President Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

“However, with a breakdown in talks and renewed escalation over the weekend, motorists should prepare for another round of price increases,” De Haan said.

Historical data provided by GasBuddy showed Washington gasoline prices at $4.30 per gallon on April 13, 2025, and $3.26 per gallon on April 13, 2021.
