Thomason, Tradup and Danny Boy to be inducted into Dry Lakes Hall of Fame

Posted
On Sept. 27, in Buellton, Calif. the Danny Boy Streamliner from Brewster, Wash. will be inducted into the Dry Lakes Hall of Fame. Long time land speed racers Richard Thomason and Ed Tradup, both of Brewster, owners and drivers of the Danny Boy will be traveling to Southern California with some of the crew for the prestigious ceremony, which will be at the famous "Mendenhall's Gas Pump Museum." This is quite a treat for a couple of apple farmers from a small town in North Central Washington. The team has set 20 plus National and International land speed records over the past 28 years, still holding the record as the World's Fastest Front Wheel Drive Car at 340.361 mph which is a FIA Record. They also still hold the D Blown Gas record and E Blown Gas Streamliner SCTA-BNI record set at the famous Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

Thomason and Tradup would like to say that they couldn't have accomplished all of this without the help of the all the local support over the years. Many business and people have helped with encouragements and financial support. There have been many people help as crew members over the years but one that has been very instrumental in setting many of these records is Jim Socci from Bridgeport, the engine builder. Other current crew members are Brian Westerdahl and Jeff Spurgeon from Brewster and David Walls from Portland, Oregon.
