Bridgeport FBLA chapter officers attend officer training

On Wednesday, October 8, Bridgeport FBLA Chapter Officers, Pedro Trejo, Eddy Martinez, Arely Garza, Nichole Jackman, Danyelle Cavadini and Angie Martinez, accompanied by advisor, Nancy Fischer, attended an officer training conference in Leavenworth. Officers from chapters throughout north central Washington attended the conference.

The officers participated in workshops that helped them identify what they can bring to the table as leaders and also establish individual goals to improve their chapter. Various "icebreakers" and games helped the members meet officers from other chapters as well as exchange ideas about fundraising, member involvement, and recruitment of new members. For fun, a scavenger hunt was held that had the officers taking in the sights and shops of downtown Leavenworth, on a search for clues; with the winning group getting to eat lunch first!

Bridgeport's Arely Garza, the Washington State FBLA Parliamentarian, worked with the regional vice president, Nic Doherty from Cascade High School, to manage the conference. The Bridgeport officers will be leading 39 members of the local chapter to Wenatchee on November 12 for the North Central Region Fall Leadership Conference.
