Church hosts Apple Days Block Party

Cashmere Baptist Church is sponsoring Apple Days Block party for all ages from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.

This free event includes food - hot dogs, chips and drink, along with games for all ages, face painting, cake walk, Bible drill, and many more. There will be prizes and giveaways. Entertainment and lots of fun for everyone. (er38,39,40)

Donations sought for Stuff the Bus food drive

A Stuff the Bus food drive is planned from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Cashmere United Methodist Church, 213 S. Division. Drop off donations of non-perishable food to benefit the Cashmere Food Bank. The goal is to fill the entire bus. (er39,40)

CCC presents Jeff Scroggins and Colorado

Cashmere Community Concerts welcomes bluegrass musicians Jeff Scroggins and Colorado to the Cashmere Riverside Center, 201 Riverside Drive, on Saturday, Oct. 10. Cashmere Middle School's After School Program needs volunteers

An After School Program for Cashmere Middle School will be beginning again in October.

Community volunteers are being sought to support CMS's teaching and support staff in the school library from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

This program would include connecting with the students on organization and completion of homework assignments, helping with reading and other skills.

Fire recovery is topic at Republican Women's Oct. 5 luncheon

The Chelan Douglas Republican Women have invited wildfire fighting experts to speak about the recent fires at the Oct. 5 luncheon meeting at the Wenatchee Red Lion Hotel, 1225 N. Wenatchee Ave.

The public is invited to hear Rep. Joel Kretz, District 7, and Jon Wyss, who both played a huge part in the firefighting efforts.

EASE Cancer Foundation Fundraiser

Jeff Lowe's film, "Metanoia," presented by Sun Mountain Lodge and EASE Cancer Foundation, will be shown at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop.

Lowe has an undiagnosed disease similar to ALS. His spirit has been indomitable through the highs and lows of a terminal, debilitating illness. The film is a fundraiser for Lowe, but funds will also go to the EASE Cancer Foundation. For ticket information, go to brownpapertickets.com. (er39,40)

EASE Cancer Foundation is offering a cancer survivor workshop Oct. 9 and 10 at Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop. It features a screening of Jeff Lowe's Metanoia film and presentations on hereditary cancer, new targeted therapies, cancer risk reduction and symptom management, sleep, stress, fatigue, immune response, therapeutic and restorative yoga, yogadance and Kripalu Danskinetics®, exercise, stress, and weight management, whole food cooking classes, applied art therapy, genetic screening, lymphedema education, chemo brain and cognitive games, personalized exercise prescriptions. Auction, extravaganza benefits WVC athletes

Dress in your favorite team apparel and join the Wenatchee Valley College Knights coaches and athletes for an evening of food, drinks and auction excitement at the seventh annual Knight Athletics Auction and Extravaganza at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 in Smith Gym on the WVC campus, 1300 Fifth St.,Wenatchee.

Tickets are $20 each and include food and a glass of beer or wine. All other beverages are free.
