Brewster teams tie up three CWB league titles

BREWSTER – Three Bears varsity teams, boys’ baseball, girls’ softball and boys’ soccer have tied up the Central Washington 2B league championships and will be heading to post-season playoff action following final regular season games that were scheduled for May 1.
Led by last season’s CWB Most Valuable Player Felix Nava, the Bears’ varsity soccer team was undefeated 9-0 in league and 12-1-2 overall prior to Brewster’s final league game against Bridgeport, May 1.
The Lady Bears softball team was at 14-1 in league play and 18-1 overall going into Tuesday’s game with fourth-place Tonasket. Their only loss was a one-run, 3-2 loss to Lake Roosevelt in an April 13 doubleheader. Most of Brewster’s other league rivals were defeated by double-digit margins. The Lady Bears are headed for the Paul Lauzier Athletic Complex Field in Moses Lake for the District 5 2B tournament on Saturday, May 19.
The Bears varsity baseball team was undefeated 15-0 in league play and 15-4 overall heading into their final game against Tonasket, last Tuesday, May 1. The Bears will be at Larsen Field in Moses Lake on Saturday, May 5, for their first CWB 2B post-season game.
