Shockers varsity basketball teams work both ends of CW2B

WATERVILLE-MANSFIELD – The Shockers varsity basketball teams are working both ends of the Central Washington 2B spectrum with the 7-1 Lady Shockers chasing the 8-0 Brewster Lady Bears for first place in the CW2B.

Meanwhile the 0-7 Shockers boys are stuck in the CW2B basement struggling to claim their first league win of the season against a strong field of rivals including Brewster, Oroville, Lake Roosevelt, and Tonasket.

The Lady Shockers suffered their only league loss to Brewster on Nov. 30 and were scheduled to host the Lady Bears last Tuesday, Jan. 8. The girls’ closest wins came against Liberty Bell by three points on Dec. 4, and Lake Roosevelt by five last Saturday, Jan. 5. Waterville-Mansfield will be on the road to face the Lady Mountain Lions for the second time this season on Friday, Jan. 11.

The Shockers with a single non-league win over Republic, suffered their biggest loss of the season with a 72-18, 54-point deficit at Lake Roosevelt last Saturday.

The Shockers were scheduled to host Brewster on Tuesday, Jan. 8, and will play Liberty Bell on the road on Friday. Jan. 11. In their last meeting on Dec. 4, the Shockers lost a close 46-44 decision at home to the Mountain Lions.
