Multiple search warrants yield firearms haul in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT – Multiple search warrants obtained by Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies investigating a December 2017 burglary in Okanogan County turned up a cache of firearms, ammunition, and shooting equipment in Bridgeport earlier this month. Acting on tips and evidence, the deputies learned that the stolen property was concealed in a residence at 1255 Fairview Avenue in Bridgeport.
“The search located four stolen rifles, ammunition, scopes, a range finder, and miscellaneous shooting supplies valued at $4,700,” Gjesdal reported.
Deputies also discovered a small amount of methamphetamine at the residence.
Four suspects, a man and three of his sons, were arrested on multiple charges. They included:
52-year-old Guadalupe M. Martinez, Sr. of Bridgeport.
Possession of Stolen Firearms.
Possession of Stolen Property Second Degree.
Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine).
Bail: $50,000.
27-year-old Guadalupe C. Martinez, Jr. of Bridgeport.
Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
Possession of Stolen Property Second Degree.
Bail: $50,000.
23-year-old Alex Martinez of Bridgeport.
Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
Possession of Stolen Property Second Degree.
Bail: $55,000.
21-year-old Noel Martinez of Bridgeport.
Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
Possession of Stolen Property Second Degree.
Attempted Trafficking in Stolen Property First Degree.
Bail: $50,000.
No one was injured during the search warrant or arrests.
“This was amazing police work on the part of our team,” wrote Gjesdal. “The victim will get his property back and the thieves will be held accountable for their crimes.”
