Senior Center will host Cherries Jubilee dessert contest

BREWSTER – The Pateros-Brewster-Bridgeport Senior Center will host a Cherries Jubilee Dessert Contest in conjunction with the Chamber’s Cherries Jubilee celebration on Saturday, June 15. The Center doors will open at 11:30 a.m. to receive entries and dessert judging will begin at 1 p.m.

Senior Center President Kathy Lowry said the two requirements for entries are that the dessert must feature cherries as the main ingredient and must include the recipe. Lowry said she hopes to have pastry/dessert chefs from area food establishments on hand to serve as judges. First, second and third place winners will be selected.

In other business at the Center, SAIL (Stay Active and Independent for Life) classes will be held from 10-11 a.m. every Thursday throughout the summer.
