WENATCHEE – The first regular season in the Western Hockey League is now in the history books for the Wenatchee Wild, and a playoff run will be part of the story for the club as part of its inaugural WHL campaign. The Wild have announced their first-round schedule for the WHL Playoffs presented by Nutrien, and presented locally by Windermere Real Estate. Wenatchee finished the regular season with a 34-30-4-0 record, good for 72 points and the fourth seed in the Western Conference. That seed also allows the team to enjoy home-ice advantage for the first round of the postseason.

Waiting for the Wild are the fifth-seeded Kelowna Rockets in a best-of-seven series, with Wenatchee potentially hosting four of the seven games. The first two games are set for Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 at Town Toyota Center before shifting to Prospera Place in Kelowna for the third and fourth games on Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3. The final three games will alternate between venues and be played on an as-necessary basis – the first team to win four games will advance to the Western Conference Semifinals, while the other team will see its season come to an end.

The full schedule for the series is as follows (all times Pacific):

  • Game 1: Friday, March 29 – Kelowna at Wenatchee, 7:00 p.m.
  • Game 2: Saturday, March 30 – Kelowna at Wenatchee, 6:00 p.m.
  • Game 3: Tuesday, April 2 – Wenatchee at Kelowna, 7:05 p.m.
  • Game 4: Wednesday, April 3 – Wenatchee at Kelowna, 7:05 p.m.
  • Game 5 (if necessary): Friday, April 5 – Kelowna at Wenatchee, 7:00 p.m.
