Spaghetti feed at Rocky Butte Church

The youth group of the Rocky Butte Church of the Nazarene will hold a fundraising spaghetti feed Friday, Feb. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Along with spaghetti-what's a spaghetti feed without it-the menu will include garlic bread and a beverage. In return the teens are asking for donations. They are raising money to attend the program "Acquire the Fire," scheduled for May 1 and 2 in Seattle.

The church is located at 3038-3 SR 173 on Bridgeport Bar.

FFA to host fishing tournament

The Bridgeport FFA chapter will host the club's first trout fishing tournament Saturday and Sunday, March 14 and 15, beginning at 5 a.m. each day at Rufus Woods Lake behind Chief Joseph Dam.

Entry fee is $10; fish will be judged by weight. The top five placers will receive trophies and prizes. Participants must supply their own fishing equipment (and boats).

The tournament is a fundraiser; they're raising money to take all 55 students in the chapter to the annual state convention in May. People who want to register or who want more information can contact chapter advisor Nate Hahner at Bridgeport High School. 686-8770.
