BREWSTER – Two of the best volleyball teams in the league battled for top billing as undefeated Manson played the Lady Bears in the Middle School gym last Thursday evening, Sept. 29.

The Lady Trojans arrived on the wake of a straight three-set win over previously undefeated Okanogan.

Brewster defeated Lake Roosevelt in four sets, 23-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-15, two days earlier.

“We had a slow start and never really found our rhythm all match but did a good job of persevering and finding a way to win,” head coach Marcy Boesel said.

Manson won the first set, 25-21, and the Lady Bears rallied to tie match 1-1 with a 25-20 win. The Lady Trojans won the next two sets and the match, 25-12, and 25-23.

“It was Homecoming week, so we had quite a large crowd,” said Boesel. “Manson had a lot of fans as well and it was a fun environment for both teams to compete in.”

Boesel said she was pleased with the team’s adjustment of focus and energy from the previous match against the Lady Raiders.

“We had some great rallies and took advantage of the opportunity to improve while playing a great team,” Boesel said.
