Bears soccer falls to Okanogan, 4-1.

Playoff spot still possible

OKANOGAN – The Brewster varsity girls soccer team kept its state soccer playoffs alive with a semifinal rematch win/loss over the league-leading Bulldogs at Okanogan last Saturday, Oct. 28.

The Bears defeated Bridgeport, 6-1, In a loser out game on Thursday, Oct. 26, for the opportunity to take on the Bulldogs again. In their only other meeting this season on Tuesday, Oct 24, Okanogan squeezed out a 3-2 win making Tonasket the only CW2B opponent to beat them in the regular season.

Brewster scored in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into halftime, but Okanogan rallied in the second half with three goals to the Bears’ 1 to put the game out of reach. The Bulldogs added an insurance score with a final penalty shot just before the game ended to win 4-1.

Okanogan advances to the league championship game. Brewster will play on Tuesday, Oct. 31, for the third and final spot in the district 6/7 crossover games. The Bears’ opponent was not determined at this writing.
