Billygoats grab a win at Soap Lake

SOAP LAKE – Scoring in every inning but the fourth, the Pateros Billygoats varsity baseball team vanquished the Eagles, 17-4, on the road last Wednesday, March 21. It was the second win of the young season for Pateros who opened its year with a 9-6 win over Omak.
Pateros head coach Bob VanLith said the Billygoats scored three runs in the first inning, two in the third, three in the fifth and seven in the sixth while the Eagles could only muster two runs in the third inning and another two in the fifth.
Logan Robinson pitched for Pateros and threw 14 strike-outs, allowed two walks, gave up seven hits and four runs.
Hitting for the Billygoats included Robinson who went three-for-three with a double. Zane Dodge smacked two-for-three while teammates Tag Easter, Jesse Ginter, Jeremy Piechalski and Doug Viebrock all hit two-for four.
Pateros will host Soap Lake at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, followed by a doubleheader with visiting Oroville on Saturday, March 31, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
