Posted

OMAK – The Brewster High School varsity volleyball team, ranked fourth in the Central Washington 2B coming into last Saturday’s league tournament, will advance to the league championship on Oct. 31, after defeating Tonasket in four sets in the Omak High School gym Oct. 28.

All four sets were close with the largest margin just seven points. Brewster won the first hard-fought set, 26-24, before losing the second to the Tigers, 18-25. The Bears rallied to take the next two, 25-19, and 25-20.

Brewster Beat Tonasket twice in the regular season winning a 3-2 match on Oct. 16, and repeating the following day in three consecutive sets.

Saturday’s match was a back-and-forth affair with strong kills and good blocking on both sides of the net.

Tue win guarantees Brewster a crossover match and a game against Manson for the league championship. The Bears have faced Manson twice this year in regular season, losing both matches, 3-0 on Sept. 28, and 3-0 on Oct. 24.
