Columbia Post 97 posts the colors honoring veterans at Quad City schools

QUAD CITIES – The American Legion Honor Guard from Columbia Post 97 presented the colors at all four Quad City schools during three days of Veterans Day ceremonies on Nov. 8-9-10. Guard members Glenn Farrington, Greg Wagg, Frank Williver, and Bob Lewis visited Pateros High School on Nov. 8 to post the colors at an assembly that began at 10 a.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 9, found the Legionnaires at a packed Brewster Middle School where the observance honored a group of assembled vets during a ceremony that featured guest speakers and special musical performances by the school band and choir.

On Thursday, Nov. 10, the Honor Guard stopped first at Bridgeport High School where the 9 a.m. assembly included a slide show honoring veterans. Later in the afternoon the Mansfield school was the final posting of the colors at its Veterans Day ceremony.
