BREWSTER – The weather was great, the field was full, the carts charged, and all was ready as golfers from far and near converged at Gamble Sands for the Brewster Boys and Girls Club’s (BBGC) biggest fundraiser of the year.
Following introductory remarks by BBGC Director and tournament organizer Brian Paine, who thanked the title sponsors Gebbers Farms and North Cascades Bank.
A brief explanation of the four-person scramble format led up to the noon kick-off time as two lines of carts were escorted onto the links along the access lanes to the front nine and back nine holes of the course. A total of 27 teams and more than 100 golfers dispersed in some 60 carts as play got underway.
Monday’s tournament was preceded by a weekend BBGC fundraiser hosted by Siren Song Wines in Chelan.
