PATEROS – Okanogan Angels (OA), a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue organization, will hold a pair of dog adoption events in conjunction with two community celebrations, the Omak Stampede on August 13, and the Pateros Hydro Races on August 19-20.

Jennifer Harrison, President of OA, said the Stampede event will be held in the alley behind Paws and Petals, 16 N. Main Street, immediately following the parade. The Pateros event will be held at 159 Pateros Mall, and that one will include OA’s first microchip clinic.

Appointments are advised for the microchip clinic. More information is available online at okanoganangels.org and on Facebook.

Okanogan Angels is currently 100 percent foster-based and relies heavily on volunteers, donations, and the adoptions the organization has available.

“There is a crisis in this country (not just in our county),” said Harrison, “so moving dogs from our area to other partner shelters in the state has become harder and harder.”

Harrison said OA hopes to join another group and have some dogs available for adoption at the upcoming Okanogan County Fair on September 7-10.
